Due to an experiment I did on myself before arriving, each breath I take is fairly painful. [he's underselling it. it's debilitating, he's just gotten used to it.] My lungs are a problem, and this vessel is nearing its expiration date regardless. I'll probably be coughing up blood at some point.

The last reason is sentimental... but I've agreed to value emotions.
