Supposedly, they will give me some of the supplies I asked for before the next destination. However, those supplies are still only rudimentary. I'll need a lab, but I don't know if I trust their tech readings, so I would rather build my own.

You'd rather build your own lab. [ ... y'know what, sure! fine! ] Well, if they give you the stuff for it who knows, maybe you'll get the chance. Or maybe they'll just keep putting you off because you having a lab wasn't part of their plans.
